What to Expect When Getting C02 Fractional Laser
Embarking on a CO2 Fractional Laser treatment journey begins with a comprehensive consultation, followed by a personalized treatment plan. The procedure itself is performed in our state-of-the-art facilities, taking anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the treatment area’s size and condition. You may experience a sensation akin to a mild sunburn immediately after, with redness and some swelling. However, these are temporary and indicative of the healing process. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth and efficient recovery.
Preparing for Your Procedure
Preparation for your CO2 Fractional Laser treatment involves several steps to ensure your skin is primed and ready for the procedure. This includes avoiding sun exposure, discontinuing certain medications and supplements, and following a prescribed skincare regimen to enhance treatment efficacy. Our team will guide you through these preparatory steps, tailoring advice to your specific skin needs to facilitate optimal results and a seamless recovery.
C02 Fractional Laser Recovery
Recovery from CO2 Fractional Laser treatment varies by individual but generally involves a couple weeks downtime. Post-treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and a peeling process, as your skin rejuvenates and heals. Within a week or two, these effects subside, revealing clearer, more youthful-looking skin. We’ll support you throughout the recovery phase, offering expert advice and aftercare solutions to ensure comfort and enhance the healing process.

Ideal Results
The expected results of CO2 Fractional Laser treatment are nothing short of transformative. Patients typically observe significant improvements in skin texture, tone, and elasticity, with a noticeable reduction in wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation issues. These changes develop over time, with the most dramatic outcomes visible a few months post-treatment as new collagen and elastin are formed. With proper skincare and sun protection, the results can be long-lasting, ushering in an era of rejuvenated, vibrant skin.

Who is an Ideal Patient for Co2 Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation?
If you are looking for anti-aging surgical or non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and you aren’t sure which option is the right one for you, it is worth your best interest to book a consultation with Dr. Peter Grossman to learn all about the benefits of Co2 laser skin rejuvenation. Most plastic surgeons agree that the Co2 fractional laser is the best treatment if you hope to get significantly more results in a single treatment. If you want to look and feel younger, the Co2 fractional laser could be an ideal alternative to a facelift, but only the doctor will be able to give you an accurate assessment.
Many plastic surgeons will recommend the Co2 fractional laser treatment for people with advanced skin damage and wrinkling. In some cases, people have multiple deep wrinkles due to overexposure to the sun, and in other cases its genetics, But this laser treatment can carve 20 years off your appearance.
What does the Recovery Time Look like for Patients Who Get the Co2 Fractional Laser Treatment?
Recovery time will vary on several factors that include your medical history and the condition of your skin. But more people take 7 to 14 days to completely heal. Undergoing a Co2 fractional laser treatment is the equivalent of having multiple non-invasive treatments at once, so it saves you a great degree of recovery time. While the recovery time is significantly shorter than those recovering from traditional facelifts, it is still a good idea to keep activities to a minimum while getting plenty of rest over the next two weeks. Your physician, based on your medical record, will possibly give you some medication to help keep you comfortable, as well as come special creams and lotions for your face and neck. But most people who seek the Co2 fractional laser treatment are back to their usual routine after a week’s time, while others need two weeks to fully recover.

Are there Any Risks or Side Effects with the Co2 Fractional Laser Treatment?
With any procedure, regardless of how invasive it is, there will always be some degree of risk and side effects. The primary negative side to the Co2 laser is the downtime of 7 to 14 days required for the skin to completely heal. During the recovery period it is normal to experience redness of the face, along with dryness, flaking and peeling. However, prescribed facial moisturizers will help to control this. It is highly advisable to stay at home for the first two weeks after the procedure, though with your doctor’s approval you should be able to work from home two days after the procedure. At Grossman Plastic Surgery we provide full facial anesthesia, so there should be minimal to no pain during the procedure, or in the hours to come after the procedure is completed. Some other side effects can include (but are not limited to) infection, minor scarring, and hypo and hyper pigmentation. But prior to the procedure Dr.Grossman will discuss these risks with you, and based on your skin’s condition and current medical health, you may be at low risk for experiencing any of these things.
