FAQs

Who can benefit from Bodytite™/Facetite™?

The procedure is ideal for those who are looking to remove localized excess fat and tighten or lift the skin to avoid loose and saggy skin.

What areas can be treated?

Any area on the body can be treated including face, neck, abdomen, arms, inner thighs, outer thighs, knees, back, bra roll, hips, flanks, and buttocks and breasts.

Do I have to be put to sleep?

This minimally invasive procedure is performed under local anesthesia, with sedation, or under general anesthesia depending on patient safety and preference.

What is the downtime?

The expected downtime is 1-3 days depending on the number of areas treated and location of treated area. As with traditional liposuction, a compression garment is worn for two to three weeks.  The best results are noticeable after 12 weeks to six months.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Individuals with frustrating areas of excess fat that are resistant to diet and exercise.
  • Healthy adults without medical conditions that can impair healing.
  • Individuals within 30% of ideal weight.

How long is the treatment?

The time taken for the procedure will depend upon the size of the area and indication being treated but will generally take between 30 minutes and 2 hours.

What to expect after your procedure?

Patients can expect to go home and resume regular activities shortly after the procedure. We advise no aggressive workouts for two weeks, but normal activity and walking are encouraged. We ask our patients to wear a compression garment post-procedure for best results. The repair and healing go on for three to six months and contour will continue to improve overtime. Patients may experience swelling, bruising and numbness immediately after, but this will resolve.

How is it performed?

Even though it is minimally invasive, it is still invasive and strict sterile techniques must be observed. A narrow wand is inserted through a needle hole in the skin to melt fat, tighten skin, and tighten the fibers underneath the skin to reduce sagging, leaving smoother, tighter skin. It can be done under local anesthesia, light sedation or general anesthesia. BodyTite™/FaceTite™ RFAL may be combined with other surgical procedures, and in that case, it is usually performed under general anesthesia.

How long do the results last?

Nothing can be guaranteed but results are expected to last at least five years. For comparison, a facelift is said to last 7 to 10 years. BodyTite™ does not prevent further weight loss.

What are the risks?

Temporary discomfort, swelling, and bruising are to be expected. Sometimes, prolonged redness may occur. Uneven skin for approximately two to three weeks following treatment may occur.  In very rare cases following FaceTite™, temporary facial nerve weakness is observed. Treatment of the male neck may result in patchy beard loss in the treated area. The doctor will discuss in detail other risks and side effects.

Is it safe?

This is one of the key advantages of BodyTite™ and FaceTite: The procedure time is usually short. There’s no incision or skin flaps. Since it is minimally invasive, there is little risk of infection.

Can it be combined with other procedures?

BodyTite™ and FaceTite™ can be, and frequently are, combined with other conventional surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, liposuction, or eyelid surgery.

How much does it cost?

Cost will vary depending on the size and number of areas treated. Especially when compared with a facelift or tummy tuck, it is very cost effective.
